Generative Architecture Platform
Generative Architecture Platform is my concept of architecture designed by computers with an online platform supporting its functionality. It’s a concept I have been working on for almost two years. So far, it has mostly been research based but I’m planning to take this project to the prototyping phase in 2021.
Technical explanation
Generative design has been around for a little while. It even has been applied in some architectural context. But I see the potential for generative design to be a tool for freedom to the common man. That is what I try to accomplish with the Generative Architecture Platform. It will be an open online platform that offers the technology of generative architecture to all.
It works by giving the algorithms your requirements, goals and restrictions. With this information, the algorithms can generate, evaluate and evolve thousands of designs until it finds the most optimal solution. And all of this in a few hours.
I see the opportunity to make the built environment (which is unnecessarily expensive and time consuming) faster and more affordable. I see the opportunity to allow people to incorporate their values into their buildings. When executed well, this concept can change the way we build and grow our cities.
